Yesterday Alameh University Students gathered in support of a Green Moharam, after the burial of Ayatollah Montazeri.
This is the welcoming move of the upcoming protests of Moharam, called for by various Student movements

Urgent Action Alert: Student Leader MAJID TAVAKOLI at Risk of Torture!

URGENT ACTION : - Iranian STUDENT LEADER at RISK of TORTURE -

Student leader Majid Tavakkoli was arrested on 7 December after a demonstration. His whereabouts are unknown and he is at risk of torture or other ill-treatment. Amnesty International considers that he is a prisoner of conscience, held solely for the peaceful exercise of his right to freedom of expression, association and assembly.


Majid Tavakkoli was arrested as he left Amir Kabir University of Technology in Tehran, where he had given a speech at a student demonstration marking Student Day in Iran, held on the Persian date of 16 Azar, the anniversary of the killing of three students by security forces in 1953.
The following day, Fars News Agency, which is close to the Revolutionary Guards and the judiciary, published pictures of Majid Tavakkoli wearing women's clothing, and said he had been wearing them at the time of his arrest in order to escape detection. Student websites and others, which have claimed that Majid Tavakkoli was beaten at the time of his arrest, have denied that he was wearing the clothes at the time, but suggested he was forced to wear them afterwards to humiliate him.

Dozens of students and others were arrested around the time of the 7 December protests, which took place in cities across the country. Many have been released, but an unknown number remain in detention.

I’m concerned about the fate of Majid Tavakoli, student leader arrested on 7 December after a demonstration as he left Amir Kabir University of Technology in Tehran.
I respectfully call on You, the Iranian authorities, to immediately and unconditionally release Majid Tavakkoli, and any others detained around the 7 December demonstrations who are held solely for the peaceful exercise of their rights to freedom of expression, association and assembly.
I also deeply concern that Majid Tavakkoli has been subjected to an enforced disappearance andthat's why I urge the authorities to disclose his whereabouts immediately.
I calling on You to ensure that he is protected from torture and other ill-treatment, and grant him immediate and regular access to his family, a lawyer of his choice and any medical treatment he may require.
I also ask You to investigate promptly and impartially the reports that Majid Tavakolli was beaten during his arrest.

Somayeh Rashidi Arrested

Somayeh Rashidi, women’s rights defender and Campaign activist was arrested on Saturday December 19, after appearing for interrogation at the Revolutionary Courts.

Afrooz Maghzi, the lawyer representing Somayeh, explained to the site of Change for Equality that: “this morning and in follow up to a summons she received after the search of her home, Somayeh Rashidi went to the Revolutionary Courts. Despite the fact that the court accepted that I would represent Rashidi in the case against her, I was not allowed to be present during the interrogation. Somayeh Rashidi was in interrogation for about 2 hours, after which I was informed that she had been charged and a temporary arrest order had been issued in her case. She was then transferred to Evin prison.”

As a result of the news of the sudden death of Ayatollah Montazeri on the 20th of December people in large numbers were on their way to Qom for the next day burial ceremony. Around 45 activists and their families joined the travellers to pay their last respects. The travellers were suppose to set off at 9 in the evening from Haft e Tir square. Whilst the security forces were dispersing people from the square, at last the buses carrying people set off by 9.30. The security forces had caused diversions and hence the buses were stopped, searched and Mahboubeh Abasgholi Zadeh, Shiva Nazarahari and Kouhyar Goudarzi members of women’s and Human rights movement were arrested.

Hundreds have been arrested in the past protests. The more than 140 prisons in Iran are uploaded and crowded with prisoners and despite this, protesters and students still continue to urge International Community to hear their appeal that :"This regime is not legitimate and will be toppled soon".

About the Film

In the male dominated society of Iran, Farahnaz Shiri, the first female bus driver in Tehran, has made her own little society in her bus. In Iran there are different sections for men and women on public buses. Women should enter buses from the back door, which is separated from men’s entrance, and should sit or stay in a limited zone at the end of the buses which is separated from men’s zone. But in Mrs. Shiri’s bus everything is vice-versa. She is the governor and the only law maker of her own little society. In her bus, men must enter from the backdoor entrance and must sit or stay in the limited zone at the end of the bus. Mrs. Shiri is struggling to prove herself in this society and resisting a series of injustices that she faces as a woman in the Iranian society.

About the Director

Sadaf Foroughi was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1976.
She graduated with a bachelor degree in French literature and continued her study in master degree in cinema and now she is student on PHD in film philosophy.
She joined to Iranian Short Film Association (ISFA) in 2004.
Till now she has 9 short films in her cinematographic background and has taken a part as an editor in 4 short films.
She has some experiences in photography and choreography.
Among her recent works is the documentary produced by experimental and documentary film centre of Iran. She also made two video arts produced by New York film Academy in 2008.
She is currently presenting her new documentary produced by STEPS International.

Brave Iranian girl student speaks out-Ahwaz University 30 October

Brave student lashes out against regime representative in Ahwaz as he cunningly talks of dictators who do not allow him to talk in the session- referring to 50 students. A note on the music: This entire video was constructed in silence-only the poem and the images were put together without my knowing what music would be the right one. The music is so important to the interpretation of these poems. Rather than reading them, the music is my voice. When I 'laid' this beautiful piece of music over the video it fit perfectly. Few edits were made to accomodate the images to fit the music. They seem to be made for each other.

This is the Engilsh translation of the report about the Iranian women March which happened less than three weeks after the uprising of people in Feburary. This report is about the resistance of women against the Islamic Regime which was from March 7 to 11th in 1979.Opression of the Islamic Regime like other Islamic movement starts by attacking the women movement first.





It is of course documented that the protest was attacked constantly by government thugs in civil cloths and batons but the march was protected at sides by a Human chain made of Mojahedin women who wore scarfs and supported the protest.

Kalhor Interview with Makhmalbaf

The daughter of a top adviser to Iranian President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad has applied for asylum in Germany, organizers of a film festival that she was attending said Tuesday.

Narges Kalhor, the daughter of Ahmadinejad's adviser on cultural and media affairs, submitted her asylum application to authorities in southern Germany, Nuremberg Human Rights Film Festival spokesman Matthias Rued said.
I'm certain he hasn't seen my film or know about this festival or where I am," she said. "I came from my own desire, for cinema, and I have to continue."

Narges Kalhor had been at the Nuremberg festival to present her film Darkhish (The Rake), which condemns the use of torture and the barbarity of totalitarianism.

Mahdi Kalhor told Iran's official IRNA news agency that he knew nothing about details of his daughter's films or her plans to leave the country.

He blamed the Iranian opposition for supporting her attempts to challenge the government.

"This issue is one of the symbols of a media and soft war that opposition has launched," the agency quoted Mahdi Kalhor as saying.

He also told IRNA he had divorced Narges' mother a year ago over differences of opinion, saying she was a zealous opponent of Ahmadinejad. Narges had been living with her mother.

In the video, Narges Kalhor appears wearing a green scarf - the color of the Iranian opposition - draped about her neck and expresses support for the reform movement.

She said that, while she and her father have differing opinions, she hoped he would support her and possibly even change his mind.

"Any moment, a person can change," Narges Kalhor said. "At any time, a person can have a moment of calm and think about what the correct path is."

"Just a little solitude can open our eyes to the world and we can decide, this is the correct path, the path of these millions of people who went to the streets asking for freedom" she went on to say.

This is but a humble sampling in tribute to some of the great women throughout history ... set to the song, Hero, by Mariah Carey.

In Iran Women are the forefront of the brave uprising against the most heinous religious tyrannies of our century. Women in Iran have played significant role at all stages of resistance against tyranny, colonialism and fight against two dictators (Shah and Khomeini). In Ashraf enclave there are 1000 women who have for the past 35 years been professionally part of the resistance for FREEDOM,Democracy and hence Gender apartheid. They are at much risk now. Most time attacked by Iranian agents, and put to risk of rape and death. Most have left behinde3 all they had and loved in this world to gain Freedom for their people.A new born value in the deadly staggering society which Khomeini had prompted after usurping the 1979 revolution in Iran and after leading the young changed society into religious tyranny. These women have either lost one or 5 or more members of their family , have been subjected to prison, rape, torture and many other unbearable conditions to reach out for the Freedom of their people. The main talks was for them to reveal the immense lobbying paid for by Tehran that portrayed them as terrorist and "Hypocrites". For 30 years the mullahs in Iran tried very hard to demonize them among people and wash all history of their trace or convert reality into fictitious tails to prove them as terrorists in Iranian society.
Today they still sand high in Camp Ashraf to protect what is naturally the Iranian people's right to have; "FREEDOM". For the first time in Iranian History the leadership of the most mentioned and realized enemy of the Terhan regime PMOI consist of Women. The Leadership Council was founded by Maryam Rajavi, a known experienced dissident who faught for Rights at the time of the shah, lost two of her sisters and spent all her life to strive for the ultimate Freedom of her country. She has in due process been subjected to the most repugnant ani-female regime propaganda that has manly attacked her personality , private life and details of her life in order to passify her efforts in achieving her goals for ultimate Freedom in Iran. She instead has at all times proven to lead the fight in an extremely tolerable, pluralistic ideology towards mankind and its role to the evolution of society to gain Ultimate Freedom and Democracy.

International Women's Day (March 8) History

International Womens Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. It is an occasion for looking back on past struggles and accomplishments, and more importantly, for looking ahead to the untapped potential and opportunities that await future generations of women.

In 1975, during International Women's Year, the United Nations began celebrating International Womens Day on 8 March. Two years later, in December 1977, the General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming a United Nations Day for Women's Rights and International Peace to be observed on any day of the year by Member States, in accordance with their historical and national traditions. In adopting its resolution, the General Assembly recognized the role of women in peace efforts and development and urged an end to discrimination and an increase of support for womens full and equal participation.

History

International Womens Day first emerged from the activities of labour movements at the turn of the twentieth century in North America and across Europe.

1909: The first National Woman's Day was observed in the United States on 28 February. The Socialist Party of America designated this day in honour of the 1908 garment workers strike in New York, where women protested against working conditions.

1910: The Socialist International, meeting in Copenhagen, established a Women's Day, international in character, to honour the movement for women's rights and to build support for achieving universal suffrage for women. The proposal was greeted with unanimous approval by the conference of over 100 women from 17 countries, which included the first three women elected to the Finnish Parliament. No fixed date was selected for the observance. ..."

I smile as I walk the mountain of apathy to create a tiny crack that I would tear open only if I could only if I could with my saber of love draped in black and green, I declare myself look at me I need you and you need me too I smile

I smile at your incomprehension your fear your pity and your sympathy I smile
I smile knowing that you cannot see we are one of the same flesh and blood veins I smile
I smile when you walk with me and say that you care yet frustrated by the unknown I smile
I smile for I wish I could tell you that you will never know and we will die not knowing I smile

I smile as I think of those beautiful young blossoms that are perishing as I write in hopes of capturing their brave hearts I smile
I smile knowing they are kept in dungeons were tortured is inflicted to render the spirit dead and if that is not enough, hung like lambs from light posts dangling like majnoon by their necks

President Obama, my name is Neda!

Dear Mr. President Obama,
My name is Neda Agha Soltan. I was killed by a Basij in a street of Tehran while watching a post-election protest. Perhaps you remember me. Millions people watched me die in less than... 40 seconds. Perhaps you remember my open eyes when I took my last breath. But I will live for ever in the memory of freedom loving people of the world. I have become the guardian angle of my sisters and brothers who are fighting for a free Iran ; I have become their voice and that is why I am writing to you.

Just imagine one of your daughters dying in the same way as I did! How would you feel if not only the killer went unpunished but got rewarded for what they did? What would you tell millions of Iranian young people who are feeling that the beacon of freedom has betrayed them by shaking hands with killers of their sisters and brothers? What would you tell your daughters if they asked why you are rewarding the killers of Neda?

I am the voice of people of Iran . I am calling upon you to support the democratic movement of people in Iran . I am not asking you to make war. I am not even asking you to help our struggle for freedom. I am just asking you not to support the government that has terrorized its own nation for 30 years. I am just asking you to stand on the side of humanity instead of oppression, torture, rape, and killing.

No ordinary Orchestra!

This Orchestra is no ordinary one. Most of them have been students from various Universities, or Human Right activists who have risked their lives to escape Iran to find a way to fifth for Freedom. These women are now in a Camp called Ashraf and have been brutally attacked by pro- Mullah Badr brigade under direct orders of Iraqi so called President MALIKI . They are on Hunger strike to defend themselves against the threat of raped posed to them by the 9 Brigade in FARSI!!!!. It is now their 60th day of Hunger strike. The US which is supposed to be there to observe ans support their rights under the TREATY act and also as an obligated contract it has made with every individual of the Camp has done nothing so far to to protect them, Maliki is trying to put these people on sale to get in exchange a willful position from the Iranians in his upcoming elections. All Human Right activists are very much concerned over their blatant misuse of politics to squeeze Innocent activists and defenseless refugees. They are writing to the US embassy , singing petition

A german Poem about resistance

In of Ingrid Holzhueter, Former member of the German Bundestag

Supporters of the Iranian resistance have all over the world commemorated the memory of Ingrid Holzhueter, Former member of the German Bundestag from Social Democratic Party and the president of the German branch of the Friends of a Free Iran Committee, who has unfortunately passed away this week.
She has been one valuable strong willed example of a women who had spent all her life defending the "right" , the "poor" ,"the victim" against all kinds of injustice and oppression. Since her childhood that witnessed the sad days of the II World War catastrophic effects, has wished all the time to be immaculately effective for the cause of Justice. This was exactly what her last years had testified to as she bravely stood in defense of the 1000 women activists in Camp Ashraf at all times and under arduous times.
For 10 years she represented the people of Germany as Representative and struggled in politics to defend equality and justice.
We are all sad to feel her empty seat at all meetings and gatherings.

We have a clip that has at the beginning her sun speaking and later Father Henry, a remaining member of the French Resistance Cells at the time of De-Gaul who also supports with much effort the Iranian resistance known as the PMOI against accusations and labels, always reminding similar experience they had gone through at the time of the French resistance.
His words are so dear and whole heartedly given.

Marjan former Iranian singer and Artist in supprot of 1000 women

Apparently the former Iranian Artist who lives abroad now, has begun a political life mainly concentrating on the women s' suffrage and Human Rights. She is a member of Iranian independent artists out of Iran and also a member of the National Council of resistance of Iran , which plays as one of the main enemies of the Ayatollahs .

She then sings the new song "Fired & stabbed my defensless body" , composed and sug by a group of youth dissidents called the Shabahang - becoming th elogo of the World Campagin defying the brutal assault on a refugee camp in Iraq called "Ashraf".
